Lance Whitehead founded Cygnus Capital in 2002.

Following a career in the British military, Lance worked with Banque Indosuez Bahrain, placing private equity and venture funds across the Middle East. On return to UK, he worked with Merrill Lynch, Coutts & Co, Citibank, and Dresdner Kleinwort Capital. More recently, he was Managing Director of Landmark Partners Europe, the leading private equity secondary manager.

Lance has spent the past nine years fundraising for a wide range of alternatives managers across Europe. Additionally, with over fifteen years’ experience of living and working in the Gulf Region, he has developed close relationships with a broad spectrum of investors across the Middle East.

Lance has a marketing-oriented MBA from Henley Management College and he speaks reasonable Arabic, German and French. In his earlier years, he represented Great Britain at World Championship level, as a bobsleigh driver and an offshore yachtsman.
