Charlotte is the most recent member of Cygnus Capital’s
team, having previously pursued a varied career focusing
on corporate intelligence and the Middle East. She brings
to her new private equity role significant regional and
analytical experience and Arabic language skills.
Charlotte joins Cygnus Capital from
Diligence International, a business intelligence firm,
where she carried out a range of pre- and post- investment
due diligence assignments focusing on the respective reputations
and integrities of specific individuals and entities on
behalf of a range of clients, including private equity
firms, investment banks, nominated advisors to London’s
Alternative Investment Market (AiM), multinationals and
family offices.
She previously worked for MEED, a weekly business magazine
focusing on the Middle East, where she produced a series
of investor guides to the region, profiling companies
listed on local stock exchanges. She also served as an
interpreter in Iraq, in her capacity as a member of the
Territorial Army (TA) in Basrah and as a Foreign Office
interpreter in Baghdad.
Charlotte read Classics at Cambridge
University and spent two years in Alexandria, Egypt, teaching
English and studying Arabic before returning to Cambridge
to undertake an MPhil in Middle Eastern & Islamic
Studies.
Charlotte enjoys travelling -
especially to the Arab world - cross-country skiing, outdoor
swimming and writing.
